WHy have I not heard of this in the news? And yet I watch BBC news 24 everyday until the repetition makes me nautious.

Bastards. This kind of thing makes me sick. It's complete bull. They're passing it off as a safety device, but it's blatantly a revenue generating thing / fuel conservation trick.
