Well, thanks to DrB who guided me through the "complexities" of actually pressing the correct button. ( I thought it all happened via the knob).
Now my tyre pressures are stored and all is well- and I DO indeed have a menu system. Thanks everyone and especially DrB who took the time this evening to meet me.

I did exactly the same first time I had a puncture... spent ten minutes fighting with the knob and reverted to embarrasingly calling a dealer :oops:
