For anyone interested, I've just had my fronts replaced with Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico to match the rears. Total cost inc vat & fitting was £387.75 by a local tyre firm.
I kept the worn fronts as spares just in case but they really were getting close to the 1.6mm wear bands. The car now feels loads better balanced than before even in these icy conditions.

Whay tyres are the most popular for RS6
I had my P-Zero Rossos replaced with four new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's at the weekend. I'm still taking it easy to let the new tyres bed in, but have covered 200 miles so far and initial impressions compared to the Pirellis are very favourable. The Michelins feel much more planted and sure-footed than the Pirellis and inspire far greater confidence. They were almost £200 more expensive than the Pirellis (£912 vs £722), but IMO are easily worth the extra money.

I had my Pirelli's replaced a couple of weeks ago with Goodyear Eagle F1's £730 fitted, and they knock the pirellis into a cocked hat......they have far more grip, but also the ride quality is much better and quieter. There is much less flashing being done by the esp light now than there was before, so i am one very happy bunny!!
