Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
Hi Matt. Yes ecs are the ones I came across.
Local Audi dealer found them for me.
$140 from the USA.
Still trying to convince myself to buy them.

I'm finding lots of stuff has gone up massively in price. Need to do some work on the LR at the moment.
A capping strip that was 50 quid at the end of 2017 is now 100 quid. It's all gone mental.

I would bet that when you try to order them they come back and say NLA. They don't stock them and I don't know where they would be able to get some from.

Yeah, it's a nightmare. I'm struggling to get anything for work purposes. Some suppliers are quoting leadtimes in 2023. Means I have to redesign everything to use different tech with all that implies in terms of risk and cost. All pushes the prices up, all along the supply line.

Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
I actually put both clamps “in my basket” but didn’t press buy.
Got a message from ECS this morning saying
Oops something went wrong
Do you want to proceed with the purchase.
And a link to the order.
I don’t know at the moment !

Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
Sourced both clamps at Audi tradition.
But they won’t sell to a private buyer in the uk.
Will persevere.

Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
CAD up some 2D drawings (DXF) and get them waterjet cut from fractory in 3mm 316 stainless would be my answer if the originals are beyond repair.
I think you'd need to think about how to hold the cables to the bracket and then IIRC there's a tab on them that stops them moving around the bolt too - can't quite remember.
Both would need a little thought, but I think not too tricky.
But I am afraid mine on my car are currently fine.
If you're not a CAD guy, while I'm not great at it myself, I could do it, I don't mind the practice and have used fractory before with success, if you want post a bunch of pics of them along with measurements. I assuming L&R are the same except mirrored. Is there a "Poosey Bracket" opportunity here?

Steve, why don't you take up one of the previous offers from EU members to get them to buy the parts for you?

Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
That’s exactly what I have done Ben.
PM sent this morning.
Waiting for a reply to progress it.
Hopefully sorted v soon.
Did think about making a bracket. But everything (except the coil overs) is original. So if at all possible I would like to keep it that way.

And the poosey pipe?

Poosey pipe not installed yet Matt.
Waiting until if and when I need it.

Have you got a pic of your broken ones?

Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
No mate. Half of it is missing. The parts are as per bens supplied diagram above.
4BO 609 765 c
4BO 609 766 c IIRC
Used a cable tie as a short term temporary fix

Ah, OK. that's a shame. If you had the bits, I was gonna say post it to me and I'll have a go at TIG welding it for ya.

Re: Hand brake cable securing clamp
Appreciate the offer Matt. For some reason they were really rusted through.
I don’t know why. They are only 19 years old ??????
Must of been a bad batch during manufacture.
