Yeah, I'm not up on car prices at the moment (except for Passat GTEs and MB C350e). You're right, the B8 is still fairly expensive. Holding its value well. I thought they'd be about 20k by now. I like 'em.
I was trying to think of cars around the 15-16k mark. I think a well sorted RS6 would probably cost you about that. Or if you got one cheaper then you'd have to put 4 or 5k into it. Then the modding costs on top. Brings you up to 20k.
I always found that used cars are generally much cheaper here than in France. Don't know why. Maybe a supply and demand thing.
How cheap is this?!

Might be crap of course, but it's half the price of a B8 RS4 and much more car IMO.

lol again
Yeah I've noticed that too, and not by a small margin! I suppose if you had the wheel on the correct side of the car, they would sell for much more
Good pick indeed. Give me the same with the wheel mod, and this would be a serious contender.Shoppinit wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 4:38 pmHow cheap is this?!

I suppose 500€ for the pair is a good deal if they're in good shape: https://www.leboncoin.fr/equipement_auto/1766623638.htm

Yeah, it's not a bargain, but it's ok for both complete units. Glass won't be right for RHD cars, though.

Well it looks like around £300 for each turbo, that’s a worst case ‘replace all worn parts’ including uprated bearings and CHRA, that’s from Turbo Rebuild Ltd near Blackpool, turn-around no more than a week. Owen Developments are getting back to me tomorrow. I didn’t bother the other contact; that was in Germany and given this is going to have to be done in the space between engine out, repairs done and engine in I would like them back in week tops.

Never been really taken by BMWs great though the M3/5s are. The exception being, for me anyway, the Z3 M coupe, a real head turner, but they always seemed to appreciate quicker than I could save.
If Jaguar put their supercharged V8 in the XF Sportbrake that would something, but yeah, prices for XFR are tempting as are those for the XKR (but that’s never going to be as practical as an Avant).
The De Tomaso Pantera is such an awesome car, as for resto-mods I be quite taken by the idea of dropping an Audi V8 into an early Lotus Esprit...

Hi Mark, I kind of get what you implied. I’m east coast, Suffolk, I was going to get the car trailered or transported some how then risk the train to pick it up anyway it’s no great shakes to make it Liverpool instead of Banbury. I should at least enquire.
Wasn’t it an option from new to have the colour coded cover? If it was I wish the 1st owner had also ticked the ‘self-folding’ box too. I would like to retro fit a pair of them though, that’s further down list of things to do with other things like fit RNSE, refurbed wheels, etc.
For the money I have thought about the B7 RS4 and they sorely tempt me too, I had a B6 S4 and if it wasn’t for the stupid heavy clutch among other things I might still have that. I have occasionally found myself looking at the later V6 S4s
