Parts catalogue says 4B3 512 131 C.

I left the standard bump stops on mine when I did the PSS9.

Nice PS4S. Best tyres in existence.

/or maybe the PSS9 came with new bump stops. I don't think it did but it was a while ago and my memory is screwed.

My paltry list of numbers shows that is for the rear damper. The US sites are playing with my head atm, anything for sale fits anything it seems.

I'm just not sure if the front bump stop is original or changed out with something available when the DRC was last changed. 8D0 412 131E is clearly for B5 sports suspension, just unclear if it also ended up on the C5.

My first Michelins in years. Looking forward to giving them a try.

Sorry, I mistook the photo for the rear setup. I definitely didn't buy new bump stops for my fronts, but I have a feeling the PSS9 came with them.

Thanks. That's what was fitted. Just so interesting that the official Audi America parts site says that those do not fit the RS6. I'm all tooled up with the RS4 and allroad parts books and didn't have the RS6 on the horizon when I obtained them. Very quickly amassing a list of part numbers though, says something.

Get yourself a copy of Etka. Let me know if you find a good one.

I have a copy of etka 7.4 I'm happy to share. I've never installed it (i use ifinterface so I can see realtime if bits are still available), so no actual clue if it works, but you guys are welcome to give it a go...

 for ETKA. I tried ifinterface and what a find. Never seen it before. Also didn't realize that there were a few spring options for the front. Don't know what the difference is though.

No surprise to people on here, when I removed the DRC system, one leg had just a few psi in the system and the other was bone dry. Had to compress the LH front damper 50% before any oil showed. Definitely the second fit of DRC too, the dust boots were mismatched on the front. I'm glad to be rid of that system. I'll get some views on the Bilstein setup posted idc. It won't be a comparison as the previous system was completely dead. Unrealistic to compare (I hope).

OK, suspension upgraded. New Bilstein dampers, DRC springs, new front upper arms (for the jealous, pinch bolts were a push out with one finger) and a general check over plus new Michelin PS4s tyres.

Result, noting the condition of the old tyres (Conti 5P), the front upper arm bushes, the lack of oil in one DRC leg and zip pressure in the other, it's night and day. Steering feels noticeably lighter, tracking is good, it actually isn't as firm as my RS4 which is well modded, but feels very solid. Need to scrub in the tyres etc before getting a better feel but at the speeds and conditions of the first drive, money well spent.

Clearly it's been in this degraded position for some time despite the signs and sounds of dead DRC being noticeable. Can't imagine how the past owners thought it was a great drive.

So much more fiddly to do the rear dampers than the B5. Once you get the tricks sorted it's much quicker but even ELSAWIN is bloody short on essential detail.Big thanks to the various forum guys who bothered to detail their efforts in this area.

Post a bit of a test drive, I think the Bilstein dampers tick the boxes for me. An great alternative to Koni and I can't comment on a comparison but I'm happy.

Rear.jpg
The ride is good, more refined than my RS4 which has all the fruit, dampers, springs uprated F&R bars etc. More in keeping with the type of car it is. Turns in much better than the allroad despite the extra frontal weight. So good balance.

Like exhausts, you can't see the fitted bits so the outcome is all down to real on-road performance. Happy to recommend Bilstein as a very good replacement to the DRC for DD duties. Certainly an alternative to Koni and an added bonus is about a 5mm ride height increase for those B&C roads and speed humps everywhere.

I reckon everyone is a bit jealous of the lack of corrosion on your steel springs & wishbones.
Just had mine all powdercoated - but the "before" version looked pretty corroded and minging.
