After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits

*bam_bam is Jack's inflated sense of deflation*
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
Lol @bam
I'll be very interested to see how you get on with that antenna. I looked at it and a whole bunch of others before getting so frustrated that I gave up on the idea of a dab radio in the car.

What was your concern Shoppinit?
Are Dab aerials typically problematic?

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
Yeah, the only ones that seem to work make you look like smokey and the bandit. But that Pioneer one would have been the one that I'd have started with.

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
So how do OEM DAB work?
Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
Very well I imagine, considering it comes complete with an £80,000 RS6.HYFR wrote:So how do OEM DAB work?

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
In a Skoda CityGo?
Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
Most cars these days have complex diversity systems to get decent reception. You just don't get that on aftermarket stuff. Even for FM.

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
It's probably the same VAG R&D budget that got it to work.HYFR wrote:In a Skoda CityGo?

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
i dont know why there are such high levels of cynicism - audi have totally nailed a2dp and bluetooth in general as is befitting a huge luxury auto manufacturer.

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
So Pioneer AVIC F70 DAB successfully fitted.
Looks a treat and works really well.
Sound quality is amazing and what a difference over the RNS-D that I had been used to for so long.
Especially with the Graphic Equaliser.
Thanks again to Sunny and K down at Bromley Car Audio who advised and fitted the unit - they did a great job.
If you're in the SE London / North Kent area and need a good service I would recommend them with no hesitation.

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
Would be nice to see a photo in daylight to see how it integrates into the dash, if possible.

Re: After Market SatNav/Radio Headunits
There you go Shoppinit
It doesn't fit flush like the RNS-D, but it doesn't look out of place
Photos may not do it complete justice, but I am very happy with the unit.
