Erm, no. Peak torque is at 5500 on the 4 and torque is what pulls you along :). I do use all the revs wherever possible, but nothing tickles my bits more than torque.
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

Yes, but where's the red line on the V8 RS4? Over 8k is it not? Must be a great buzz revving the cojones off a large capacity engine :FIREdevil:

It's all subjective of course and I suppose a drivers opinion on low to midrange grunt over top end thrash is very much down to how the car is used. If it's an everyday driver used for the daily grind/commute/school run etc. then low to mid range torgues all day long; real world driving is much more enjoyable when you can rely on instant forward motion from low road speeds and not have the frustration of waiting for the revs to climb before taking off. I relate this to bike engines; my 750 cc Suzuki makes nearly 200 bhp per litre but feels like it'd be quicker to get off and push if you give it WOT with less than 9k showing on the tacho; if I had to use it everyday I would have chopped it in for a bigger capacity machine long ago, but...when the conditions are right and the roads are clear and twisty the rush you get from that top end power is totally addictive :rocker:

Same goes for the RS6. She's mainly just an (expensive!!) toy so I don't mind losing a little low down drivability for some top end madness when the situation allows; those hybrid turbos coupled with the race dp's and 'zorsts really free up the last thousand or so revs to the limiter (really must get round to booking some dyno time for final fettling...) and for me that's the hit

Horses for courses really

I try to sit not far off where the torque is at all times, or am one gear drop away from it as I am normally waiting for every opportunity to overtake whatever is in my way, as brutally as possible of course ;)

Oh yes, a brutal overtake is the only way in an Audi RS
