I think Chunk is taking exception at the fact that you came on here asking for help then were dismissive of that help when it was offered. Didn't help that you came back and appeared to rub it in our faces. Course, that may not be the way it is, just how it appears.

Didn't see any related threads on Audizine. Didn't look very hard, though. Mav is our resident *other* forum scourer - maybe he'll find it.

How can you guys be serious, I ask for a little help which was not forthcoming and as soon as I mention another site, your real colours appear !
I didnt realise you guys attacked people like that, obviously the select few regard themselves as the guardians of the site and act like gate keepers
Only hope that if this is a professional site the administrator thake a look at the comments

Hi Nobby

From Audi Tech :
"When the concern happens check your RPM gauge, if you have no reading then your crank sensor is faulty and no spark is supplied to the engine since it doesn't "see" that the crankshaft is turning. There will also be no fault the sensor unless there is a short circuit in the sensor/wiring."

He also mentioned the symptoms associated with sensor when it is breaking down in particular the temperature related issue and of course the engine beginning to run rough
Mine has all of these so I have ordered one from eurocarparts for £24 as VW/AUDI wanted £90

I will fit at the weekend and post result
