reading maps and prepping for your journey before you leave kinda defeats the point of having sat nav. I was fine in the old days where I'd look up where I'm going before leaving but I want sat nav so I don't have to. with this system I often put the 4 digits in, then the name of the road then I'm faced with a number of roads with the same name that share the same 1st 4 digits of their postcode. Inevitably I end up on the wrong road.

I'm not sure about the MMI units (i.e. non RNS-E) in other newer Audis, they may have full postcode search, but certainly if it comes with an RNS-E then its 4 digits only.

Its got nothing to do with technology, Audi didn't pay the license for the 7digit post code.
