H7 is the main beam. HID for the dipped and not sure if H3 or H7 for the fog, I need to check
HID conversion would be possible either way but lots of bother.

I done the Hids fog light in my allroad, it was a pain to hide the ballast in that, so the rs6 would be even worse.

It made one hell of a difference though, I'm doing the same in the 6 when it gets out of storage.

I thought they were h7. Hids it is then, it's a worthwhile upgrade for our dreary fogs!

I wish I had taken some pictures, it was like driving in daylight with all my lights on at the same time!

I think I will have to look at getting the fogs sorted and the mains re-installed in the new headlight units - HEXA HIDs!

I have seen some mini ballast 35W ones and that should be more than enough power and less trouble to hide.

Condensation was an issue so will need to be extra careful sealing them up next time around

I wish they would ban fog lights. Especially the rear ones. Or at least educate people on when to use them, and more importantly when not to. They are worse than useless, 99.9% of the time.

Deepest darkest Norfolk :-D

I'm the first to agree that misuse of the fog lights drive me crazy too. It is just that I'd like them to actually work when I turn them on.

I'm not sure the fuzz can actually do you, lots of newer cars have the fogs turn on for a turn.

I don't think I've ever had a car whose headlights don't steam up at some point. It's a known thing on the RS6. Don't worry about it.

There will be a breather hose. But often it's the difference in temperature that causes the condensation.

If I were you I would just ignore it (and I do).

I find them to be very Effective DRL's (Daytime Running lights). I have fitted mine with 35W 6000K H7's. Since most of the time I am bearing down on Cars ahead of me, they make my presence very well known and quite an added safety feature. I have also wired the Fogs to be functional without the headlights (Main Beam) on so as to increase the life of my main beam bulbs........
