Re: Breakdown
Came across this but not sure it’s for our cars.
Will know when Marc sends pics.
Re: Breakdown
No, the RS6 one looks like this:

I thought you had one?

I thought you had one?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Re: Breakdown
Yes Ben I have a new one for fitting on Tuesday.
Read somewhere that there are two sensors. Crank sensor and speed sensor. Didn’t know if they shared a housing.
Or even if there are two sensors next to each other.
Re: Breakdown
Got the diagram out of the Bentley manual. Also mentions a fuel pump control module which is also worth checking if the fuel pump is misbehaving.
Re: Breakdown
Cool. This is where it goes (number 1):
Number 2 is the vehicle speed sensor (G22). Possibly the other Hall sensor in the photo you posted.

Hi suz. Thank you for the reply.
Just in case I bought a replacement fuel control module.
Cheers for that Ben. So there are two sensors in the same vacinity. Thankfully they don’t share a common housing.

Re: Breakdown
Hi Steve. Pretty sure the pictures you have posted are from a different car.
However the pics from the manual Shop has posted are correct and reiterated by pics of my car.
Obviously my turbo is not on the car currently and the turbo outlet swoops down towards the front of the G28 and sits in the way! Typically. The sensor comes out of the hole nearly all the way till it hits the turbo pipe. Then the last millimeter I found it just needed kicking in the hole a little and up over the turbo outlet. Luckily the sensor has clearance in the hole.
The connector sits above the turbo oil drain back to the engine block. This turbo oil drain will need unbolting both off the turbo and the block to allow yku.to move it about and out of the way but you.wont be able to pull the pipe out completely as its trapped between the gearbox bellhousing and the turbo.
Pics show it all really. Minus turbo.

Re: Breakdown
The other speed sensor is there in the vicinity as you can see. From memory, you will need to unplug that sensor and move the cable out of the way for better access.
Hope that helps

Re: Breakdown
Much appreciated Marc thank you.
That plus all the other info should give us a fighting chance on Tuesday.

Re: Breakdown
They'll manage it I'm sure. Once I knew where it actually was, which for me was helped by having a spare gearbox in my garage. I just worked out a way from there. Took me three hours on the floor from Start to finish I think armed with no prior info.

Re: Breakdown
And thinking back I'm pretty sure I didn't end up taking the driveshaft out. Just removed the half moon inner CV boot cover.

Re: Breakdown
Crankshaft Position Sensor has been replaced took 3 hours with garage facilities. Thankfully they had a turbo oil drain pipe crush gasket on stock.
At least I can now use the car. The Exterior fuel pump will be done as soon as it arrives from Germany.
Many thanks for all the help.

Re: Breakdown
I got a crankshaft doobry just in case mine needs one. 3 hours is a simple job!
