Yeah, I can't remember if the RS6 was ever able to get the available modules off the CAN controller. Maybe not. I think Steve had this, too. I'll have to try it on mine some time. Doesn't really matter, it's just a pain for autoscans while it tried to communicate with non-present modules.

The only significant fault showing is your coolant sensor. That could totally explain your rough running. It's not labelled "intermittent" (which could indicate a fault code for a fault that's subsequently been rectified), so I assume this is a live fault. But didn't you just replace this sensor?

Try clearing all the fault codes and scan again, just to make sure.

Hi thanks for coming back to me. I did replace the sensor. I will do as you say and try clearing all codes then run another scan.

If that’s the first scan I would be very happy with that.
As Ben has said clear the faults. Run the car for a few days and then rescan to see what comes back.

Wouldn’t be too concerned about the radio or the central locking at the moment. I have both of these error codes.
I would be looking to see if the G62 code comes back.
Especially if you have just replaced it.

I replaced my G62 sensor recently. Like you I had rough running. Sometimes problems starting the car with that error.
Thankfully after installing a new sensor my problem was cured.

Like you I cannot connect with can. I have to select the car from the list.

Selected clear all DTC's and whilst system was running through this could hear a few solenoid clicks and then both cooling fans slowly ramped down. Re Ran the auto scan log file below.

Hmm. Weird. You might have a dodgy connection to the coolant sensor.

Clearly i am no expert :!: and yet to start the car. But I wondered if with the fault logged and not cleared did this keep the fans running as some safety feature?

No, I don't think so.

Open the ECU module only, instead of doing a full scan, and read the fault codes.

What is the difference with this compared to what i have done?

Do i select this from the control module option and do i need to be really careful when in there.

Will do as you say and start the car later.

I really appreciate the support with this... Absolutely crapping my self.

Auto scan scans the whole car. If you go to the engine module then it just scans that one. You can’t do any harm if you’re just checking and clearing codes

A massive massive thanks to you guys who have helped me over the past 2 to 3 weeks. :notworthy:

Turned the car over tonight after the completion of the work in my other posts re fans and then a rough idle and support from you on Vagcom.

Car fired up and ran smoothly, battery CTEK MXS5.0 remained at fully charged and the fans did not goto full speed on position 1.
IMG_2907 update.JPG
I let the car heat up and with Aircon on the large fan rotated slowly, Small fan off. Aircon off and both fans off.

Not been running for a while so let some heat get into the engine and watched the oil and coolant temperature on the dash slowly come up.

Will scan again

Sounds promising.

I'm thinking that you might have a bad contact on the coolant sensor, or maybe even a faulty one. Where did you buy it? Plausibly, the ECU could put the fans on full because it doesn't know how hot the engine is so reverts to fans full on.
