Fault code P0118-002 engine coolant temp sensor G62
Hi all, could someone shed some light on a couple of issues I have, not sure if it’s to do with the same thing or not, I got the engine coolant sensor signal too high fault and I changed the green temp sensor at the rear of the engine on the passenger side, I still have the same fault and I still have a very noisy fan that comes on as soon as I start the car, is there another temp sensor I need to change instead, is there also a separate issue as to why the fan is continuously running,
Thanks again

Is it an OE sensor?
What's the exact code you are getting?

Shop, cheers for the quick reply, just did another auto scan post clearing the DTC and it’s now gone, so thankfully the new sensor has solved that problem (also found a broken signal wire in the passenger MAF, so sorted that out too, anyway back the the fan issue, the only faults I have linked to any of the fans is the following :
2 Faults Found:
00819 - High Pressure Sensor (G65)
29-00 - Short to Ground
01592 - Air Quality Sensor (G238)
57-00 - Electric Circuit Failure
Where do I start lol

Re: Fault code P0118-002 engine coolant temp sensor G62
The high pressure sensor is for the AC so that could be putting your fan on full. It's easy to replace.
You can ignore the air quality sensor DTC.

Re: Fault code P0118-002 engine coolant temp sensor G62
Hi Lee
Before ordering the new part of check that the plug is properly connected. My plug wasn’t broken earlier this summer, but I noticed it was a bit weak, so I bodged it with some cable ties until I resin a new plug. When that plug is disconnected, the fan comes on straight away after the key is turned
I think the plug gets weak from repeat disconnects from the front carrier removal.

1. Did this connector being loose result in both fans coming on or only the smaller fan when the key is turned.
2. Is it actually possible to get a hand on this without the bumper off. I believe i can see it next the the headlight with a torch?
Thanks Again
Steve
Re: Fault code P0118-002 engine coolant temp sensor G62
Both fans come on full blast, I had the front end off mine tilted forward to do the cambelt. As soon as I started the car fans came on as the air con pressure sensor is disconnected.

Re: Fault code P0118-002 engine coolant temp sensor G62
Craig, cheers for that buddy,
So not had a chance to get on the car yet due to the weather and work, I ordered a new sensor anyway as whilst I have the bumper etc off and the tine to do it I didn’t want to get stuck waiting in case it was the sensor after all, I will definitely check the plug first though,
