Panic over ,once I seen how much a set of blades where on eBay I thought I'd best nip out and see if I could find it , retraced my drive and luckily i found it just passed a speed bump not far from the house , speed bump must of dislodged it.
Will have to investigate the tabs as I think some have broken ,might see if I can 3d print some replacements and epoxy them on.

Once I found the missing door blade I noticed that it had been siliconed on rather than screwed in , where the screw receiver's fit onto the door blades is missing , its broken.

Once I looked at the door I could see that the screw holes where full of silicone where the previous owner had tried to use silicone to adhere it to the door.

So I broke out the epoxy I had left over from sealing the intercoolers and epoxied some screw inserts in to the mounting points so i could use screw again to secure it to the door.

Its not pretty but the door blade is now securely fixed to the door. I think I need to remove and repair a few other door blades as they seem to be loose.

Hope this might help anyone who needs to repair a dodgy door blade.

The end of my drivers door blade is not connected any more, will have to do some kind of similar repair.
Is the blade held on with screws all the way along, from inside the door?

Not screws. Clips. Just one screw at the extremity.

Audi door blades are normally fixed on by clips with holes that slide over lugs/protrusions on the door (or is it the other way round?). There is then one screw at the end to stop it sliding.
I recall one of my door bottom strips (like blades but much thinner) coming adrift on my S8. I removed the screw, slid it off backwards, repaired/replaced the offending clips, slid it back on and put the screw back.
Did a similar job on my son's S4 a few years ago when he had (lost) an argument with a gatepost....
They should come off easily once the screw is removed but if they're mucky might need a wash and a tap to crack the muck! :audibash:
