Car mats.

Post by steve2003rs6 » Tue Jul 02, 2024 3:07 pm

Looked back on old car mat threads on here.
Came up with Autostyle car mats.
Been in touch with them.
They can do a full set of mats with logo (or without) and heel pads for approximately £90.00.
Logo on front and rear mats.
Heel pads as required. I chose both front mats.
They are Something like the pic shown.
Very reasonable price.
They are not moulded like my original mats.
I have tried everywhere without success on original mats.
So I think these are my best option.

I did find a supplier overseas that didn’t do the mats for RH drive vehicles. But again they were not moulded mats.

Just to reiterate. The mats in the picture are not Autostyle car mats. I sent the picture to them so they could see the logo I was after.
Apparently the logo is embroidered separately on to felt and then “welded” onto the car mats.
Maximum logo size is 120x30 mm

For 90 quid it's worth a punt. I don't understand why nowhere does any mats that look like the OE ones.

What was the LHD supplier that you found?

Hi Ben.
I cannot find anyone that does moulded mats like my originals.
Perhaps members on here can throw some light on this.

I have these: https://vehiclematsuk.com/audi-rs6-c5-t ... -2002-2004 I ordered them in October '21 after a disappointing experience with https://simplycarmats.co.uk/ (they sent a set that looked like regular A6 mats, so fitted nothing, sent them back with templates made from my OEM mats, only to receive 2d mats that were the wrong way round)

SKU: SYS0813-Executive-Charcoal-Grey
Step 1: Mat Material/Grade: EXECUTIVE (1250gm Carpet) +£38.00
Step 2: Colour/Material: Charcoal Grey Carpet
Step 3: Trim Colour:Grey

The Vehicle Mats UK stuff is ok, quality is good, but the fit is far from perfect: https://share.icloud.com/photos/045pBaS ... QeXR82-zcA
(the fit on my a set I bought for my wife's B9 A4 was much better)
Fun: 2004 RS6+ Avant, Daytona Grey, Bilstein B14, Milltek.
~Fun: 2016 A6 Avant S-Line, Daytona Grey, fake-Black Edition (dechromed)
~Fun: 2019 A4 Avant 30 TFSI Black Edition

Many thanks Simon appreciate the photos and your comments.
From the info you provided it doesn’t look like any of the car mats you have tried are acceptable.

Maybe time to give Autostyle a try for £90.
I really wanted OE mats but I think that is not possible.
Unfortunately my drivers mat suffers from heel wear.

I did wonder about getting a heel pad fitted over the wear.
A bit more thinking on my part is needed.

Came across these on here on a 2012 post by yorkrs6+.
I have sent him a pm if by chance he still visits the site.

He knew of a seamstress that refurbed original mats.

I bought these for the S3 which were from Autostyle. They were good quality and I was thinking of purchasing a similar style for the RS6.

I also did a good search a few years back a ended up nowhere. Even for LHD.
Ended up with some good condition, OEM, molded, no-logo C5 S6 mats.
They're perfect for me.
Might be worth a search for those in RHD

I can't even find any LHD ones any more. Luckily mine are in pretty good nick, but I'd like a spare set.

After a long search for original mats without any success. I have had to go with what I can get.
I have gone with CarMats.co.uk
The “elite” mats are £99.00 set of 4. I have chosen black mats with black trim.
Carpet is 15mm total thickness. So heel pads are not an option.
Not moulded
No embroidery on mine (But it is an option).

After the ton of water in the footwell from a blocked ac drain,my original mats are totally ruined.

Have seen reviews from many very satisfied customers for carmats.co.uk. So keeping my fingers crossed.
Should get them next week.

Installed mats today
As expected the mats are flat but good quality.
In the absence of OEM mats I am happy with them.

Thanks Ben. Under the circumstances had to make do.
However the elite option are good quality mats.
