Drivers side Mirror Internals

Post by pwack » Sun Mar 31, 2024 1:19 pm

So , bloody fence panel was blown over which landed right on my drivers side mirror snapping it at the cast coupler.

The housing and glass etc are unmarked , does anyone know if the internals of a standard a6 mirror would fit , I know the cover and glass and different but the plastic trim on the bottom has the same part number as a normal a6 mirror.

Was wondering if I could just swap the internals over if I find one wit hthe same number of wires ?

Yeah, I think they are the same. Except some A6 had folding mirrors and/or memory seats so you need to get the right one. What's your part number?

Maybe this will fit:

I don't remember if the RS6 has folding mirrors or not. I'll have to look on mine.

Could have been a lot worse!

Believe it was either standard or an option.
Mine has them, but had quite a few options boxes ticked.

The part number for non-folding is 4B2 858 532BB.
WIth folding is 4B2 858 532BC.

That's for a RHD, right hand side.

I’ve had this car for over 15 years and only just discovered that I have folding mirrors.

Mirror internals arrived from Prestige , swapped over stainless cover , bottom plastic cover and the mirror glass , refitted and all works , so total cost was £18.
