I done a full resend rebuild a couple of years ago on my rs6 if you have any question.

I did have a second complete subframe that I stripped down, cleaned and then fitted all my parts to. The. One weekend me and a mate swapped them over
Cheers Wes. I’d love to build on a second sub frame but I’ve already got another project on the go that’s go a full front end rebuild (forge rebuild, rebuild twin turbos, IC, subframe drop, full powder coating and engine bay respray) on my 300zx which is sucking up most of my spare cash.

I made a little more progress finally removing all the bushes from the upper and lower control arms along with the ARB links. Big thanks to Matt who has been reply to my texts asking for help. 👊

It's not often I get an opportunity to tell people to "burn it with fire"

Made even better by the fact that I was telling a fireman to burn it with fire.

When your refurb goes further than you intended and you realise you should have to loosened the collar before taking the coilovers and control arms off. Improvise, adapt, overcome!

Big thanks again to Matt!!! 👊

I’ve loosened the bolts holding the drive shaft to the diff but they’re not parting. Is there something I’m missing or am I just being a pussy?

Give it a tap. 20 years of rust sticking them together.

Where should I tap it, do you think it splits after the disc closest to the diff?

Also any recommendations for the replacement?

This should help explain. So the inner flange stays where it is, but the middle and outer should come off.

Cheers Matt, that does make it clearer. (Must resist withdrawing bolt 10 to clean up the flanged shaft). 🫣

Good progress. While you're this far "up to your nuts in guts", you might as well drop the rear subframe and do that too. :biggrin3:
