First spring drive out joys

Post by Human Joist » Thu Apr 01, 2021 12:58 am

Just thought I would see if anyone else had any issues on their first drive of the year. Like a little list of whose was worse.

Mine was tonight for work and the only thing was a seized rear calliper heating the pad slightly on the way in. I was driving expecting the thing to blow up as I always do on the first drive of the year 😂 so will order a new one tomorrow along with a set of rear pads. The disc seems to have survived

I use mine every single day, so every day is special :-)

Currently laid up on the drive due for it's cambelt and service next wednesday. Been off the road for about 3 weeks now, the ,longest I haven't driven it, but since it needed an MOT, I thought it better just to get everything done in one go.

As above. Mine is also my daily driver.
Really could do with a cheaper runaround.
Problem is I don’t want to drive anything else.

Likewise use mine every other day , want to get myself a daily thats cheaper to run but just to addictive driving the RS6. Most days try and keep the window down just to listen to the V8 burbling away . 👍

Same here for a daily driver.
172K miles and counting...as above, just love the "off shore powerboat" roar when giving it the beans. Keeps the much newer RS3/4/5 boys honest too 8)

I used to use it daily when my commute was shorter. Now I’m 19 miles either way in to Birmingham. So have a b8 A4 diesel avant

£258 for genuine rear pads and a calliper.

Since I retired I was expecting to do less miles each year. However the opposite has happened. Which means I am spending more time in the car than I did when I was working.
No complaints though. More time in the car the better as far as I am concerned.

They are a great machine. Fitted the new calliper and rear pads. Fixed the drop links. Now it’s mot time

Cheers mate. Failed on front tyres. Got it tracked last June and have done 950 miles. Scrubbed the inner edge of the tyre and a bit of cord exposed. Clearly tracked it wrong. No comeback due to time as I spoke to them today. So a couple of tyres tomorrow from my trusted place and will get them to track it this time. Covid stopped me using them last year.

Michelin pilot sport 4. Circa £150 fitted so not too bad.

That alignment must have been way off to expose the cords in 1500 Km on Michelins. There's bugger all to adjust on standard suspension. I've just clocked up 15,000 Km on PS4S and really no sign of unusual wear. Fantastic tyre.

The 4S are better
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Shopp. I Missed the S on my above message.
Yes mine are the PS4S. Had the tracking done when they were fitted. And so far no uneven wear.
IchBautAuto yes loving every day when my day is my own.
Highly recommend it ? Roll on summer.
