SAI
Re: SAI
Which software version is it and what was the source?
I think I have a stock tune file minus the SAI somewhere you can have. No promises, but I’ll check.
Do you know how to upload it?
Do you know about “boot mode” on the ECUs?
Have you got the right leads and software?

Re: SAI
Hi Matt,
I read/ write directly to the chip using a programmer. To do this I remove the chip. Easy to do when you have been soldering for over 30 years and have all the gear.
The tune is out of the spare cars ECU. I was told it was tuned and had pre CATs deleted. Not sure how to confirm. All info I have found is in German.
Hoping someone might have Nubcakes email so I can send it to him and find out what time it is.
Cheers,
Greg.

Re: SAI
Excellent. I'll have a fish round and see what I can find/remember - I did exactly this on my own tune - both a stock tune and a Stage 1 one as well.
(Stock was done to test the SAI deletion in isolation before I applied it to the stage 1 tune)
One side note - you can pull the tune off fully via the OBD port, including even if it's a locked tune, as many remaps are.
For a locked tune, you just earth a leg on the chip when you boot it up and it put's it into boot mode, completely open.
For me at least, that was easier than unsoldering.

Re: SAI
Nubcakes is on RS6.com.
For some reason I can't post or PM over there even know I am a member. Can't even contact admin.
Nubcakes does a lot of the tunes for the 6 speed manual swap on the RS6. Very smart guy from what I have read.

Re: SAI
nubcake is the RS6 tuning master...need to get him to delete my SAI as well as I just yanked it while doing a refurb...I have his tune now and it's a blast.
I'm always leery about sharing contact info, but I'd be happy to pass along any info to him and have him reach out to you...he's always been very responsive, so it probably wouldn't take long to hear from him. PM me a message and contact that you'd like him to reply to...

Re: SAI
Absolutely the guys who know this stuff, REALLY know it. I've done a couple of megasquirts from scratch now and find them generally easy, but reverse engineering the bosch ECUs is hardcore stuff - my limit is what I needed to learn to remove the SAI.
If nubcake can do an update to your SAI, great, but if for any reason he's not available, my other thread should give you all the details to DIY it if you're so inclined.
