Apologies, I've tried to find this information on the site, but get too many results, none giving a definitive answer.
Am I right in saying these cars are restricted to 174 mph, but unrestricted will do 190mph?
Thanks
RS6 Plus top speed, restricted & unrestricted?
Re: RS6 Plus top speed, restricted & unrestricted?
I'm not sure the box is geared for 190 ?
Re: RS6 Plus top speed, restricted & unrestricted?
With a bit of tuning they will push on to 200. Pretty sure if you search back on here there was a video of "Mooch" hitting that (I think his handle wash "Cornish Moocher")
Personally I only took the Beast up to 150 (in Germany), where it would cruise happily for miles, and certainly had plenty in hand!

Mooch is back on the scene. He’s got an RS saloon now.

I Just hit about 180 last night on Autobahn - nice and easy. Could have gone more probably but my wife started squeezing my bals literally - so had to ease off
Car was steady- fully loaded 4 people + boot loaded to the roof
Filled with a 102 RON.

It'll easy do a double ton. It just needs a lot of room and a tune. It has some very long gearing, I would regularly redline Darth in 4th gear and that's 155mph right there, pushing into 5th gear your slug of torque will get you to 180 'reasonably' quick, from there on it's all horses and takes another mile or so. I think Mooch said it needs about 1.6m once you've changed into 5th.
I tried to chase down a brace of stg2 C6 and hit 190, in the rain, with my wipers stopping at around 170, not that it mattered, it's not like the water was staying on the windscreen.
After all that tuning put into Darth, I thought I had a fast car, only to watch the stg 2 C6s just fcuk off and get smaller. Somewhat unrelated, the C5 MRC M6 matches a stg2 C6 once off the line, BUT, it's a proper sphincter puckering moment when you realise you have to change into 6th at 175, only to feel the car try to headbutt the horizon again like it's only doing 60. I could never keep my foot in very long after a WOT 5th to 6th, it is a scary car. The tiptro long 5th gear is a calmer way to get to 200.
Mooch had done the 200 a number of times in the lardy barge. He had recently moved into an RS3 'loon but I don't think that worked out too well and he's rejected it, the dealer didn't cover themselves in glory either. I'd loved to have been a fly on the wall when he unloaded on them.

No matter where you go, there you are.
