Rear caliper rebuild kit.

Post by kvxxy » Sat Nov 04, 2017 2:59 pm

The off side rear caliper needs rebuilding as the piston is stiff. We noticed uneven pad wear. Can you buy a good quality rebuild kit or do I have to ship it off to a specialist?

Thanks for any help.

Kully.

The rear calipers are so cheap I'd just get one from ECP or similar.

I ordered mine from here
https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/car-br ... .html?pg=2

Will be putting them on the car on Thursday + some high boiling point brake fluid. The TRW ones are the refurbished OEM ones apparently. The cheaper option is when you return your old ones to them for refurb.

Thanks Viper. It all seems to linked to autodoc. I’ve found the calupers in there for £135 a corner. They all seem to have the same sort of business model as ECP as in constant ‘sales’ but the prices only seem cheap because they’re always fluctuating up and down. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re linked in some way.

Funny you say that - When I got email with invoice it was actually branded as AutoDoc which got me confused

I got a quote from "Volvopartsonline.co.uk" or something and now I get spammed by Autodoc about twice a day. Presumably they are in a bid to take over the world.

I had to replace both rears this year, bought the TRW ones from Brakes International as they are OE with the 4 rings ground off them. Was only about £200 and change for two new calipers delivered and work perfectly.
