Have a look in the FAQ, too. There's a list of gearbox refurbers.

The receipt i have is for a gearbox rebuild at: A1 Premier Transmissions LTD on 96932. Ive just bought my C5. The car is now on 107238.

Are they any good? Or just a standard decent job? Anyone know about them?

How long before a gearbox service? 20k after job?
Ive been quoted 400 for a service but i haven't looked into it. How much do MRC charge? (Yes, i could just ring them but im thinking out loud....)

Thanks much appreciated, and so is my mum.

Stupid question as you've said you have the engine out but is that cost if you deliver the gear box to them then fit it back yourself ?

If I remember right, Chesters handle collection & delivery. Cranleigh Freight Services, in my case. Ya just gotta have it strapped to a palette for them to collect...

140kgs of heavy, that is! I needed a engine hoist to move it around myself.
