Problem with RS6?

Post by Dave » Fri Aug 19, 2005 8:02 pm

My mate's RS6 is playing up. He was driving down the road, went to put the pedal to the metal, and the revs dropped off and the engine stalled.. it worked out the one of the fuses that run the engine had blown.

He took it to the dealers who hooked it up to the diagnosis.. no fault codes.. so they replace the fuse...

but it's happened again.. same fuse gone..

again, nothing on the diagnosis..

anyone got any ideas what could be causing this?.. the dealer has been around the loom but can't see anything wrong?

Which fuse has blown - what exactly does it feed? If neccessary, read from the owners manual. It looks like it's the ECU fuse, but you would expect a power loss fault code if the ECU is reset - strange? Does it only happen under certain conditions i.e. when the engines cold? when it's wet?
