I'm tyred

Post by Demon » Sat Jun 18, 2005 8:54 pm

On a four wheel drive car, which tyres wear out first, the front or the rear.

My car has covered 4000 miles from new, the fronts have 4mm and the rears have 6mm left (which has probably answered my question).

Is this wear abour normal ?

My driving is a cross between a Nun and Archbishop Schumacher :biggrin3:

Average wear seems to be about equal front-rear on mine, however the outside of the fronts are both about 2mm worse than the inside. I blame to ridiculous number of speed bumps and mini-roundabouts I have to negotiate on my way to work.

I have an RS6+. I have found that the fronts wear slightly more than the rears. I had my tyres changed at 9,400 miles. The car came with Michellin Pilot Sport 2 tyres which are good in both dry and wet and also highly predictable. Since I did not want to experiment with a grand I decided to stick with the devil I know.
