Had the burglary scenario happen with my 1st TT, back in Jan 2002. Thieves smashed the front door in while me & the kids were asleep at 04:45, then took the keys & off with the car.jonathonturner wrote:apparently these are still the weapon of choice for the ram raiders/armed robbers et al..

Since that day, my car is always in the garage overnight or even during the day when not being used (was a stipulation on the RS6 as well as Tracker) & keys are always locked away.

RE: Re: RS6 avant - still very popular with the tea leaves??
Mine was taken from it's first owner when only a few weeks old. Like most cars these days the only way to drive them away will be with the key.
Yeh, its getting worse now, i was talking to tracker when i had an Echo fitted to an old car of mine and they informed me that when someone breaks into your house to steal your keys and then drive off in your car that the police class it as burgalry as that's the first crime commited.
If someone driving off with your keys is a concern, then Tracker Echo is the perfect solution, if the transponder isn't in the car when the ignition is turned on you will get a phone call.
