London - Meribel (Thanks MRC)

Post by Carlson » Tue Dec 30, 2014 6:34 pm

I've owned my RS6 since 2009 and every year it does the type of journey it was intended for.
London - Meribel in a day carrying a family of five. (usually about 12 hrs door to door).

This year there was a massive traffic problem at the base of the alps around Moutiers and the car ended
up running for about 16hrs straight.Didn't miss a beat.

Serviced by MRC a couple of weeks before the trip.

Heres a picture from behind.

Made it back in 12hrs door to door.

Cruise control set to a ton, with 5 on board it munched the miles.

I am sure it is more economical since Doug at MRC mapped it.

Only stopped twice for 98 octane and coffee.

Didn't miss a beat.

I am not sure there is a better car to take a family across Europe.

Did a London-Walsall-London blast yesterday having let the missus have the car for most of the last year.
It's running great, hasn't used a drop of oil in 12 months and about 4000 miles and feels quicker than my 997 turbo
off the line.
Still seriously impressive.

Rule 1
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper
