Headlight seal
I thought I was doing well....it's been a few painless months for the slush fund; couldn't possibly last though could it?
Obviously not a generic RS6 problem but is it going to sting I wonder?
Can the headlight seal be replaced or are they a sealed unit that means stumping up for a new one?
Go gentle with me people....

Re: Headlight seal
One tidbit that might or might not be useful, my sister recently fitted HID's to her Suzuki SV650 and you can get the headlight apart by putting it in the oven at ~100c for 20 mins or so and it softens up the glue so you can pull it apart, and do the same trick to re-seal it. Might be the same glue used on these, I'm not sure if you can get more of the same stuff, but you could always seal it up again with something else if you need to.
One quick thought, is the foam gasket at the back of the headlight unit ok?
And put some chrome indicator bulbs in when you're done

^^ what he said! they can be opened and then resealed, but once opened, clean it thoroughly of the old glue and buy some transparent silicone adhesive and close them up. Again, check first the rear caps to be properly closed, that might solve your issue.

Re: Headlight seal
Do a google for the "joey mod" lots of Audi owners do it and it involves taking the headlamp lenses apart.

Cool. Do them this colour. I don't think I've seen a more classy mod:

Re: Headlight seal
Check your actual headlight body ( black plastic main body )isn't cracked or broken when you do it as well. That will allow the damp in to the headlight.

Re: Headlight seal
Check the bumper removal guide, possibly? Think that covers the headlights.

Re: Headlight seal
yeap, bumper has to come off in order to remove the headlights, but it's a pretty easy DIY, you'll need some help at refitting it in order to align it properly...

Re: Headlight seal
You can remove the headlights without removing the bumper but there is a knack to doing it. I tried a few times before figuring out how they come out and I've had mine out a few times now for ballast changes.

Re: Headlight seal
Mine does this if powerwashed or if water is sprayed directly at headlight. The other one is fine. Take the rubber gasket off the back and let it dry out. Add a hairdryer blast to the lens if you're keen. Mine is fine if no water blasted at it. Visual inspection shows no sign of a duff seal and the unit is the newer of the two.
