He used to be a great contributor mate, but just getting very tired and problematic now.
Ruins the whole forum experience :(
*Sorted!*

The cars are great! Leaking i/c's are a perrenial problem and fairly easily fixed (or better still replaced with Wagners

Don't let ol' Golfie get you down!!

i'd be more concerned about the torque converter not locking up, that would be a PITA problem to sort out and not a cheap one compared to the I/C....let us know how things go down the road for you, i hope MRC will work their magic and bring it where you want to...

Doug is selling me a second hand intercooler and taking my other off a re sealing them
He says he's never had one go on him yet after revealing them with epoxi resin I think?
The torque converter did get better after the gearbox map cause he said it bites on harder
I think it was the first 2000 revs we're it was spiking the graph up
I'm thinking now of getting the pre cats removed or gutted to get the full potential the tune
But depends on price
He said it would pass mot with the pre cats on and the middle cats gone
Is this right?
Also need new discs so funds are a bit low:-(
Rs4 b7 In avus silver with b14 Bilstein coilovers, centre resonator delete with x pipe and piggie cats gutted

Most likely looking at around 6 hours labour to gut the precats, but should be fine for MOT and will release more tuning potential (although you should probably budget for a new gearbox/TC at some point!).

Other way around I imagine. You can pass MOT with 1 pair of cats but the precats are by far the biggest restriction in there. Engine is a lot happier without them. Their only purpose is reducing emissions on cold starts. After the engine has run for a few minutes they are useless but still choke the engine and raise EGT.

Re-read - you are agreeing with Doug!! I have gutted pre-cats and the main cats as OEM - all fine with MOT - mainly because they could never check on the pre-cats anyway!!

MRC sold me some reconditioned inter coolers when I first got my 6, 18 months later MRC said they were leaking on a health check. I bit the bullet and went for Wagners.

well got a call today saying the coolers are done and they have changed a broken valve in something in manifold or something
i said know one told me anything about any valve???
i cant believe they have gone and replaced something without asking me and adding another £500+ to my bill
am not happy at all with mrc so a £850 remap has turned into a £2100+ job
then has cheek to ask if i wanted engine out to change turbo actuator and torque converter another 24 hours labour dont think so!
any way my result is 486ps with 900nm but the nm is wrong cause of the torque converter giving it silly figures
over and out!!!! arrrgggg`hhhhh :FIREdevil:
