Jangol,
I think I've got one of those exhaust sections in the shed.It came along with my car when I bought it. I think it's the correct side?
Also there are two different lots for sale on fleabay if you prefer?
I'm in Bedfordshire which is kinda close to you I think.
Let me know if your interested....no pressure tho I understand your pain .I think owners must keep permanently crossed fingers in the first couple of years !
:biggrin3:

thats a first class bodge it repair job...
you might want to consider what else is waiting for you... especially if that's considered acceptable for a repair
out of interest how much did you pay for the car?
i cant imagine your car was from a former forum member !
I guess you didnt check it over thoroughly.
you might want check out the very long list of things to replace and consider bailing now whilst you can.
the price you pay for an rs6 will typically reflect the problems and costs you can expect in the near future. thats from experience and seeing plenty of newbs balk at some of the costs.
a decat miltek system is the way to go, 3inch DPs whilst you're at it, but if you squeemish about the cost, you've bought the wrong car and i would strongly recommend moving on quickly before it is too late. Just some friendly advise.

Will keep you all posted on my progress & hopefully lots of nice stories to report back on here

Ignore John ......he's a typical Yorkshire man and calls a spade.....a spade however harsh it seems :bash:

Fingers crossed for you that there is nothing else lurking underneath like that.

Now go out and buy yourself Vagcom, which should be a must for any new owner. Or at least get someone to complete a full scan for you.

16814 - Catalyst System; Bank 2: Efficiency Below Threshold

Definitely due to the bodge job on the cat

17867 - Exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 range/performance

Potentially due to the bodge job on the cat

17981 - Left Eng. Mount Solenoid Valve Open circuit

New Mount Req'd

Hope that helps...............................Ian

That ''repair'' is shocking!
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Ian, thanks for your help, very helpful.. Happy about the top 2, which should be related to the cat issue.. As for 17981.. What mount is it referring to? Any part on's or picks would be very handy... Thanks again.. Good to get some assistance on this?
