Proud RS6+ Owner

Post by longman h » Sun Apr 20, 2014 2:57 pm

Well, I am now officially the proud owner of Cam's previous + which is in pretty good nick.

There's a few things I need to sort out (mainly cosmetic) but I'm a very happy chap. :biggrin3:

One quick question though, does anyone know why the car would vibrate slightly once I go from D to P or N? It's like a lumpy idle but I don't understand why it would do it once I change the position of the gear lever.

I need to get hold of VCDS and a cable, so if anyone has one they want to sell, please get in touch.

Anyway, here's a few photos.

I'm sure I'll have a few more questions after spending some more time in the car but for now, it's good to be on board. :beerchug:

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question.

Welcome - car looks ace!

Rough idle… It COULD be (I'm not expert but some items keep cropping up from time to time) the air box isn't seated properly on the MAFs. Every time it is moved the MAF seals get a bit damaged, so this would be my first item to check.

Could be a small air leak. Check your trim values.

They look good in black.

Cheers guys. I've just ordered VCDS so as soon as it turns up I'll check all the values. Seems strange that it only happens when it goes from D to N or P though.

Change in the load condition. If the mixture is off the transition could cause hunting.

Cheers Shop. I'll have a look at all the readings when I get the cable and software up and running.

I love the Avants in Black, especially the Plus's. It's also the fastest colour!! :nodder:
I actually really like the Dectanes. I find it modernises the rear somewhat. Each to their own though.

The windows will be tinted from the B pillar ASAP as I really don't like it without them.

Cam will be keeping the plate so it won't be on there for long. It's meant to read marbles which I never picked up on. :bash:

Glad she has gone to a good home and such a nice new owner. Top bloke! :)

Believe it or not, I sold antique marbles as a bit of a hobby which enabled me to buy my very first RS6, had to buy the plate too to finish it off.

Cheers Cam, it was a very easy transaction.

Hopefully after your extension's done, you'll be back into another RS of some sort. :bigblink:
