HI guys, 2003 RS6, mugello blue, 114000 miles Full audi service history, quite a bit spent at Unit 20 in feb 2011 at just over 100000 miles Cam belt etc intercoolers, gearbox service, rear seal and flange, full service, plus a few other bits and bobs. Sill going strong, drives superbly, no sign of gearbox problems as yet (don't want to tempt fate). :biggrin3:

Living in rural Somerset means there are a lot of old barns...hopefully it won't end up in one as a barn find :biggrin3:

There's a Garage down Somerset that does Miltek zorts for a decent price and also fitting service that's pretty cheap. I have seen them on ebay, can't remember their name off the top of my head.
Now what's your first question? Think most of us started out by asking a question.

Morning gents,

They are called TSR Performance and are based in Bridgewater, they do do Miltek and revo etc and actually do offer a gearbox refurb service for the C5 RS6 for £1850 which is advertised on eBay. (Obviously don't think the price includes the gearbox)
The original company back in the day was owned by a guy called Tim Styles hence the TSR title and he was a considered an expert within Vw and Audi circles they used to do a lot of engine rebuilds/ tuning.
These days there are mixed reviews from very good ones to people who would never use them again, they are only 10 minutes from me so would be ideal for any work/ repairs, may go down and check them out.....
Tim I believe is retired now and lives in France.
The eBay listing is below :assflash: :biggrin3:

www.tsr-performance.com/

This listing is for the replacement of your Audi RS6 4.2 V8 bi-turbo gearbox with a reconditioned exchange unit.

Mainly due to poor maintenance schedules the ZF5hp24A Auto gearbox fitted to these vehicles can suffer with many problems resulting in slipping in gear, juddering and even total loss of drive. Your Audi main dealer will land you with a bill of around £7,500 for a replacement unit with fitting, we have great experience of these vehicles and can do this job for a fraction of the cost. Replacing the gearbox requires engine removal and turbos to be removed, all associated gaskets and seals are replaced at this time also.

please note this listing is the labour charge including new gear oils , filters and gaskets etc.

with the reconditioned unit there are a few options which vary from £1500 up to £3000 please call us to discuss your needs further.

FON.

Good luck with a recon GB, consider an actual ZF recon'd unit for £2400.
No matter where you go, there you are.

There is nothing wrong with my gearbox, (touch wood) just info I found on a service being offered near me, if I do need a gearbox I will go with one of the big boys to be honest.
Thanks for the advice..... :assflash: :thumb:

Rural Somerset has some ace roads. Makes me nostalgic for my Bristle days.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper
"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair."
