Exhaust pipe is probably only 2" away from your foot.

Slightly off topic but is it air con in our cars pretty poor? mine gets cold air through the vents but seems to take ages to get the whole car cool. I seem to remember all my previous Audi's were similar B5 and B6. The E61 i have gets cool quite quick in comparison and is only a couple of years newer.

No, mine is ace. Like being in a cold room. Yours probably needs recharging.

Yep, sorry, couldn't be bothered to elaborate. Just for sits and giggles on the way to shout politely at people in the hospital today, I had a look at my MPG. It appears that I have been slacking due to a few long distance runs recently. Current avg is 14.2. Must try harder and not do economical long trips.....

It was recharged when Grizz did the Box and torque converter. I was hoping that would of made it cooler but it didn't. :(

5mpg at VMAX and I'm not really thinking of aircon but it did occur to me that window might implode if I tried to open it at that speed whilst at the same time bursting my eardrum with sudden change of pressure.....

Whoever said that buying an RS6 and worrying about consumption got it so right.... Just drive, smile.

Lets do a test then. Straight flat road and set cruise control and check mpg. Then turn AC on. Simples.

NB: I'm not volunteering, currently sat on the sofa nursing an ACL reconstruction so can't drive. Oh and the Ashes is on!

ACL = a curved length???

Doing my air con tomorrow when i get back from work. Gets cold but the gas is well over 3 years old. Has anybody checked to see if their air con rads are clear? This will stop it getting cold :thumbs:

A/C is crap by VAG standards . had a passat that physically froze you and a golf that would give you chilblains after 20 minutes,
and the 6 still gives you the 'boil in the bag' syndrome.
had it re gassed the other day, was on 250 and should of been 560 odd grams/ounces whatever the unit is . 2 days later and not a blind bit of difference !
