Thinking of selling my low mileage RS6 - what is it worth ?

Post by Stuart6587 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 3:33 pm

I am thinking of selling my low mileage RS6 and getting an R8 and wonder what it is worth/what I should ask ?

It is an RS6 Avant, Avus Silver, June 2003, 19,000 miles, Full service history with an Audi dealer warranty until 2015.

I am the second owner having had it for four years and bought it in 2009 when it only had 3,300 miles on the clock. It has been ultra reliable other than having the DRC replaced by Audi under their Goodwill scheme and I have done several long trips to the Alps and the South of France.

It is in excellent condition, always hand washed (I won't use automated car washes) and is always garaged.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Stuart

I would suggest that there is no real 'market rate' for these cars as they vary so much in terms of condition, mileage, spec, provenance and ultimately how much the buyer is prepared to pay. Cars can fetch anything from £10k to £18k depending on the above variables, but on the face of it yours sounds like a beauty. Crazy low mileage, combined with a Audi history is definitely very desireable and very rare.

I would hold out for £15-16k if I were you. There are always people looking for good RS6s as they're hard to come by...

Good luck,

M.

This is the absolute worst time to sell a proper low miler RS6. In 5 to 8 years it will be worth more than it is now.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Sorry but I think that 15-16k is dreaming. It isn't a magical mystical + model that commands a premium for no good reason whatsoever as far as I am concerned ;). Hopefully the right buyer will come along but you need luck on your side. I think 12-13k if you are very lucky currently but I hope that I am wrong for your sake.
Current:

it would have to be an enthusiast who appreciates the RS6 to pay the big bucks for such a low mileage car with FASH....but then again this enthusiast will also know that regardless the mileage these cars tend to have the same big issues, gearbox and DRC(which most likely will fail again), it's only a matter of time, they're like a ticking bomb, you don't know exactly when it will explode but you're sure it will! However, i would say a fair price would be in the higher 20's mark, which is probably non-realistic on today's market, but neither would be the one who buys it! Please post some pictures of the beauty, she deserves to be admired!

Difficult to value, but surely that milage has got to be one of, if not the, lowest in the country?

I would try and get intouch with some collectors. Not stamp or coin collectors!
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Mid to high teens for the right buyer, provided it's as good as it sounds.
Less for quick sale.
It's hardly run in, the DRC has been fixed and its under warranty.
What else can you get that comes close for the money?
Good luck
Or keep it.
