Not remotely interested in wheels as long as they are round. :)

The M3 is very addictive. You quickly understand where it got it's reputation as a driver's car.

Definitely attracts the wrong sort of attention though. And I thought the '6 was bad for that.

always said i preffered my m3 to the rs6 for driving properly.

cheap cars to run in comparison, i think if i had charged the m3 it would have been the best car ever, and i would have kept it.

The 6 didnt attract any attention for me, but for some reason the m3 actually makes you drive like a hooligan where the rs6 did not

would seem so ads.

the 6 only sounded it best when outside the car, the m3 sounded immense inside aswell as out, i guess that 400kg of sound deadening in the 6 helps keep the noise down. lol

Yup. It's in the garage. Need to sort out the suspension bushes and I'll probably get a pre-emptive Inspection II done to make sure everything is tip top. Any excuse to get it out though. :)

Just need to wait for a track day to turn up then. It's almost too nice to track... :bash:

Oh yeah, I need to sort the brakes, too.

That's the one where they have to adjust the tappets, isn't it?
Have you driven the six after the M, how'd it feel?
If you don't already know btw, a really useful website is realoem.com for part numbers/diagrams on Bee-emm's,

Thanks, Amar. Yeah, inspection II they do the valve clearances. Correction: they are supposed to do the valve clearances. But since that involves actual work I hear it gets omitted. Actually, I think they are supposed to do that on Inspection I, also. Not 100% sure on that.

I've already come across realoem.com - very useful. I'm surprised how much easier it is to buy parts for BMWs than Audis. It's a real PITA trying to get Audi parts, but there are loads of sites selling OE BMW parts. Like http://www.bmminiparts.com/ or even main dealers like: http://www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk/

Why can't it be like that for Audi? It's always such a faff trying to get parts that most of the time I live without if it's not vitally urgent.

I've ordered the equivalent of ElsaWin for BMW, too. And the equivalent of Vagcom. We will see.

Yeah, I found that too, and I have used BMINIPARTS.co.uk, great service. There used to be a company that did Audi parts online too, it was called VAGPARTS or something, we're talking years back though and they've stopped trading now. Glad you're enjoying the M.

Did you get the K-sport brakes in the end?

I had a set of D2 6 pots on my Fiat (reckon I was the only one in the country to own them) and they were pretty good but standard size. D2/K-sport are apparently very very similar, maybe made in the same factory. APEX performance have helped me loads for brake parts so I recommend them.

One point to note: the standard K-sport and D2 pads are crap. Get some DS2500, Pagid or Carbotech etc pads instead. Much better.

Still haven't got any K-sport brakes yet, but no doubt will order some at some point. Thanks for the APEX tip. I think I'll go for the 356mm kit.

I had heard that the Ksport pads are poo. The M3 fanboys seem to rate EBC bluestuff but they seem to be the only people in the world who do.
