insurance claim question

Post by LondonRS6 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 1:27 am

Hello all.

Saturday night wife got shunted in the back by a sh1t box. Good news no one injured. Cosmetic damage to rear bumped. Some probs now with mis aligned parking sensor and one exhaust pipe knocked one inch lower than otherwise side. Hopefully just bent. Anyhow engine management light came on when starting it up this evening. Me thinks lambda sensor.

I Am covered with admiral multicar. Given she was hit in the rear should be open and shut case of claiming on the other peso s insurance. Regarding repairs admiral say that local dealer (tetbury audi) is not on their providers list but some other body repair company. Given some if the issues .cant I insist on who repairs car? You help is appreciated. Jeremy

Okey dokey - some serious vino but...
1) rear end isn't open and shut. So don't play it cool
2) you can insist on ANY vat registered repairer. The only thing it might cost you is that admiral wont warranty the repair (which to me is fair)

Don't take any crap - I'm also admiral multivariate and when hit just say'given the marque and model of car I feel it would require an Audi approved repair centre'

When I've used my own choice of garage (Unit 20) all they could threaten was no hire car.

This is correct and also might say that you have to pay the excess.

But as mentioned above not a clear cut case. The chap behind might be an idiot and claim your vehicle reversed into his. If little damage on both vehicles might be hard to proove.

Hopefully not the case for you.
