Current Prices?
Current Prices?
Unfortunately its a buyers market at the moment and if any1s in a rush to sell a performance car then they tend to get rid for a silly price!!!
Re: Current Prices?
Probably had the dreaded torque converter stuck off code, cleared it and now getting rid of before it comes back.

Re: Current Prices?
I checked a few when I was looking and after seeing 2 rough examples ( showing their miles badly, stone chips, screw mounts holes in dash etc ) one for 7K and one for 8K it seems to be a car only for the enthused and skilled mechanic.
I found 10k is where the decent examples started, anything over 14k needs to be a plus or owned by the pope though !!

Re: Current Prices?
I was just thinking the same, but it's like what Mr twelve inch said, what else can you get with this much performance, and practability without spending in the £30-£40k budget for a c6, which don't have the character of the c5.
I wasn't sure at first, but I'm liking it very much now it's getting near the condition I want!

I used to own a 6, now I'm just a lurker!
Re: Current Prices?
They are a bargain. Still possible to get a nice one... just about. Will keep mine until crude runs out, then I'll convert it to run on Jaegermeister.

Re: Current Prices?
Buyers market? I've had two separate people this month, and one last month PM me asking if I will sell my car to them. Of course, I said no. The plus is alright. Going to treat it this month, not sure what to though, it doesn't need anything, probably bang it in for a service or summat. Got a few pieces of interior trim from Audi that have worn, and thinking of going for 034 adjustable control arms, yeah, that's what I'll do, tighten it up a little and align it.

Re: Current Prices?
I think a lot of the problem is repair bills, you will stomach spending 5-10k on a supercar if it needs it but unfortunately these are supercars in disguise. Too many posers in porkers maybe the RS6 is just not flash enough anymore ?. I personally love the cars but was put off by the size initially ( its a big ol' bus ) and found the S4 to be a 'tighter' driving experience.
I would also add the insurance quotes for the 6 had alsorts of conditions and was £220 higher than the quote for the S4 which had no conditions apart from no-one under 25 being allowed to drive it.
I wish I had have gone for the 6 though cos my B6 S4 is a bit small in the back for 3 teenagers ( two of whom are 6' plus ) problem is the missus knows her cars and knows how fast the RS6 is so would take a bit more pursuading.

Re: Current Prices?
I don't think insurance is much of an issue, I just renewed at £306 with mods declared, it helps if you're an oldish fart though

I live in ferkin Beirut according to my insurers ( the northeast, twinned with Kabul )
40yr old squeeky clean licence, 16yrs no claims, car garaged, tracked , alarmed fecking staffy on the front seat THE LOT
£780 with 1k excess and no windscreen cover ( they explained the windscreens cost a fortune to replace ??? ), no other drivers whatsoever and a lot of other bizarre restrictions
Left me baffled but the S4 is still a nice drive.

Re: Current Prices?
I paid 10.5k for mine, back in July. Came with spare 'plus' spec alloys and BBS's on the car. I actually looked into selling it for a TDI, due to an 'impulse purchase' of a big family home and needing to free up some immediate cash (dirt cheap repo with lots of work to do). When I'd probably be taking a few grand hit for a quick sale, and I'd still need to spend 4-5k on a TDI replacement, that went out of the window and I went begging to the bank instead.
I paid £750 for insurance @ 29yr, went up £200 to put my missus (23) driving for 8 months (it was a condition of purchase, which she was dead against) - I'd have gone through with a sex change if I'd know it would allow me drive such a car at that age! She has admitted she much prefers it over the Golf TDi, has she got used to the largeness very quickly
and loves the lazy power delivery + auto.

Re: Current Prices?
only had mine a few weeks but its quickly getting under my skin, ive had some fast cars but never with comfort and practicality to boot, i was a massive jap fan and this is actualy my first audi and i have no idea why i havnt taken the plunge before.
insurance wise fully comp, £250 excess, 25 with 2 years ncb and its only costing me £200 more than my old 2.2 honda prelude!!! bargin in my opinion
Great cars and i can see me keeping this on for a good few years (a lot for me who rarely keeps a car longer than a year)

Re: Current Prices?
Has anyone looked at 'supercars' though
I found a paint damaged 2006 Aston V8 Vantage for 16k or how about a 200 DB7 for 15k
Or a 2004 Carrera 4s 'widebody' for 15k ? No ? how about a 2005 Maserati 4.2 GT Coupe for 12k
There just seems to be a lot more car for your money at the minute and that seems to go across all the manufacturers, presumably down to increased production and lots of people getting chuckied up on porkers in the height of the 'madness'
