Private plate

Post by MartWilliams » Mon Sep 10, 2012 8:44 pm

Hi all, since my RS6 will sadly very soon be up for sale I though I'd see if there is any interest in my private plate?
It is R66 AWE, which with a carefully placed dot looks like RS6 AWE

We need to ban a certain word on this forum as it is doing my head in.

Good Luck with the sale Mart, pop over before you sell it if you're around the area.

I've had the car for 3 epic years, but I need the money that's tied up in it for other things now. I will be just using my Audi A2 for the time being...

Cheers Amar, yes, I'll definitely have to pop over, I've got a tank of fuel to use up, lol

Such a shame, if that had been legal, as in R56 AWE and I didn't already have a fairly good (imo) plate, I would have been seriously interested. Good luck with the sale but you might do yourself a favour by putting up a rough price. Just my 2 cents, be it valid or not as I don't tend to be interested until I start seeing amounts :).
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

R56 .... was what I was looking for when I bought the car, but couldn't find any regs with that. In 3 years I've never had any issues with the carefully placed dot, not even during the mot's, but strictly speaking the dots shouldn't alter the look of the numbers as mine do...

Price, I really don't know, the car will be going pretty soon hopefully so either it will stay with the car to help it sell or if someone else is interested in making me a high enough offer then I'll let it go, I'd be unlikely to bother getting it off the car for less than £500

Personally, I don't think that is an unfair price and I have had my fair share of private plates over the years.

LOL, well, I guess I could try and sell it, just need to find someone very rich and very gullible and then me, the RS6 and a boot full of cash can go on the run :thumb:

Never mind then. I was looking to downscale and it seemed ideal.

Cheers Dave, it's definitely a horrible car to have to sell, gonna be very sad to see it go

I have some pics online here http://martwilliams.zenfolio.com/f318943277 I will have to try and get some more before it goes and maybe a video clip too, see if I can do justice to the burble of the miltek and the whistle of the turbos on boost.

Nice plate. I'm not normally a fan of Personalised plates as many don't seem to mean much unless you happen to know the owner's name has the initials ABC and he lives at number 25 or something or another.

This one however, does look brilliant!

On a side-note, I spotted V10 AWE on a C6 RS6 the other day!
