Another added bonus that I don't think anyone mention when going Catless is improved fuel economy. I went from about 250-270 miles per tank full to well over 300 miles per tank full of combined City and Motorway driving. So in addition to more power and better throttle response ( faster Turbo spool up) you also get more MPG. What more can you ask for.............

I managed to cut one of the downpipes open and gutt it, tacked the two parts together ready for welding together in the morning. Then the other Bugger has to be done. Was hoping to get them swapped this weekend but work is shut :bash:

Forecast rain/snow/freezings temps so probably won't be able to push it as much as we would want! I had to drive down to West London Audi recently, done about 85mph there and 100 kph back and got 23/4 MPG. Will see what I get this time on the way to the tunnel, the map should help too, and the lighter steering wheel.

May be a dumb question but if you can cut out and re-weld the pre cats would you be able to chop the cats out and replace with 100 cell? I want to keep cats on as cant be faffed with swapping them come not time (if I can't find a friendly mot tester) but feel the milltek set up is pretty pricey at £1,400*

I am no engineer and it may be a bit pikey but tons cheaper.......

But surely with 100 cell cats you would get better flow, more bhp and still pass the mot? Just looking at alternatives to the Millie 100 cell's.

Yeah you will if you have 100's as your main cats too but I can't be arsed with the cost.

The difference is tiny. The main stock cats are already metallic and flow more than decent. The BHP gain of 100 cells will be single digits for most cars. I mean mine did 546 with the stock main cats, can't expect much more than that from stock turbos and manis.

546 is good going. What's your torque figure like??

You can just about hear the turbos with the window down. If you want to hear them better, get one that still has the OEM swiss cheese intercoolers. :bigwave:

Scoobies are the best for induction roar / turbo spooling / blow off noises. Brings a big grin to my face every time.
