Why would it cost a fortune to get on the road again?

The problem with mechanical locks is that they will come and knock on your door. Don't like them. I'd rather they take the car and leave me alone.

However the device I am talking about minimises that risk because even if they homejack you to get the keys, they'll still be 3 miles away by the time the car cuts out. Used in conjunction with a tracker and aftermarket alarm, I think that's about the best protection you can reasonably afford to give it.
Is there really no way you can get it in the garage? Have you considered renting a garage close by? Out of sight, out of mind.

I'm sure one of the tuning companies do a remap which requires the button pressing knob turning sequence you describe Shop.

As for breaking in to VAG and Porsche cars I have a device that does this, takes seconds :( I use it as part of my job.

Now I have seen the tracker blockers I'm not going to bother renewing my sub.

At the end of the day if someone wants your car they will get it, as long as no one gets hurts I'd let them take it.

One way or another it has to be imported, fake papers or not. There's huge protectionary tariffs in place for importing cars into Russia. It's calculated by engine size, I looked into it before I bought the 6 and it's around 13-14.000 euros just to bring in a car with a 4.2 engine.

That's a risk I suppose but 90% of car thieves won't go that far. In my case not a problem as I'm on the 14th floor behind 4 doors, 6 locks and a security guard.

I do not know if this will be done automatically by the police or so, but my friend from the Seat dealer put my license plate in some sort of spotlist database. So that when people would try to order parts in the NL from a VAG dealership with the license plate number, it would pop up.
But I dunno if the same would happen when they would order on VIN number.. and if this could be done @ AUDI headquarters. That would means a much wider area which would be affected.

The same I wonder about the stolen mark for my license plate id with the DMV; will my VIN nr also be marked stolen in the DMV database, so it can not return after a while via Poland or Russia for instance?

@ bilko, that is also one of my reliefs; they did not came inside the house... maybe cuz we have a combo of a South-African Mastiff and American Stafford running around.
..................and I dunno what would have happened if I would have woken up then.

Sadly due to my housemate being allergic to pretty well anything that moves, my parents look after my 10 stone Rottweiler called Titan :(.

Transform your garage into a large kennel. Leave enough leash for titan to defend the '6. Job done.

And get some mcGards. Better than nothing at all. Just don't tighten them up too much.

I'm really sorry to hear about your car, I'll keep a look out for parts. Does it have any distinctive marks, what colour combo is it? Any photos?
Seriously scary stuff, a few months before I bought my plus, me and my mate beefed up security where it would be kept, I can't reveal the details here for obvious reasons. But every night it is locked away out of sight and I've paid for the best tracker too, might be money down the drain now I think of it but at the time I planned to keep the car forever (it hasn't lived up to as high an expectation I had for it sadly) so it will probably go at some point - although no plans currently, but my thinking at the time was finding a sprint blue replacement would be hard, and resale wouldn't be applicable to me.

I hope you don't mind me posting these photos from one of your old posts of your car, it has a fairly rare and distinctive alcantara trimmed steering wheel and gear nob. No plus plaque though, or natural leather ? What number plus is it?
