I'm in the lucky position of being able to walk to work, so I only use mine for pleasure. Got workhorses when I need to be discreet or haul crap. I kinda agree with SteveH on this. But I get the other positions, too.

It is all down to each individual, for me. It would work and save me a lot every month. The RS6 was never supposed to be an everyday car for me, I need to get of my fat arse and test drive/do a deal on a new car but every day I have time, I end up washing or driving the '6. Going to try going to some dealers tomorrow as I have the day off, I probably won't though.

I've got my eye on a mk4 golf gt tdi at around 2.5-3k. Also a passat or a skoda octovia. Want to stick to vag really as I know the engines and have all the toolsets like Vagcom.

The wife uses our's every day for work. I have mentioned about getting a 2nd car but she won't have it (think she loves the beast now cause she doesn't want to sell it for a a few years). I on the other hand have to drive a van during the week
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Golf 4 TDi is a good choice. Bulletproof engines and reasonably powerful.

Got myself a 1989 635csi as 2nd car. Not so good for fuel consumption (its worse than the 6 in town!) but it was so cheap and its not going to depreciate anymore. Plus I always wanted one!

I must say I sometime look at a phaeton 3.0 tdi, I could get a newer car with less miles for the price of the 6 (here's hoping) but then I get in the 6 and I start thinking that I would miss the 450bhp too much...

Just come from the Pistonheads forum and there is a user on there asking about insurance, who does 25k miles per year in their RS6!

Anybody on here?

Must be collecting petrol-reward points at a pretty decent rate!
