Hell yeah

Post by Mr V10 » Mon Jan 16, 2012 7:19 pm

At lunctime today, I popped to the local shop. I would usually walk but as it was so cold today, I decided to drive. The car just looked stunning when I went back to it, so I took a photo to share with you lot. After I cleaned it yesterday, I spent about 10 minutes just staring at it and wanted to do the same again but had to get back to work. It looks so much better in the flesh.

Nope, I sit on the other side of the office. I'm taking the spacers off next week. Lost my nuts (harhar) and as I need the ones with the rotating washers I have to get over to Audi and order new ones (approx £5 each)! The spacers stick out just a bit too much.

Thanks DSB

44 mins to go and I'll be starting my journey back home in it, some country roads and motorway, I'm getting a second car this month to keep the miles of the RS6 (still only on 38k mind you), but I actually worked out it would save me at least £100 a month after insurance etc just in fuel, so I'm going to make the most of bringing the plus into work whilst I still can. :)

......I used my'n as a daily over the xmas period due to the cold weather (easy choice when the other option on a cold morning is a vespa!!) and my fuel bill after 2 weeks was quite frankly frightening  ...... wouldnt want to imagine what two turbos straped to it would have done !!!

.......although admitedily my commute is only 3 miles each way and all town driving so quite possibly the most uneconomical drive in any car, plus if I were really worried about fuel economy I would have bought a 306 diesel

Keep the pictures coming Amar.

tbh mate, been there, done that

the conclusion i came to is that I'd rather spend the £100 a month extra just so im driving it and enjoying it

you're car will still be worth the same with 58k on the clock, so why let someone else enjoy it ?

my R8 just sits there not being driven ... such a waste

Sold it now, it was too fancy for a daily driver, a £3-500 banger will do me nicely, I know what your saying DK. But I'd prefer to have a second car, for various reasons, I've been running big auto V8s for nearly as long as I've had a license as a daily driver, so I know the score. One of the most frustrating things was when they would break down and it isn't easy getting a hire car at this age! Also, where I keep my RS6, it takes a fair amount of time getting it out of its hideaway, it would be good to have a car I could just jump in and go, the minuim £100 saving a month (will be closer to £200+) will be a bloody nice bonus too.
Virdee, I'll give you a shout next week or so, just need the standard size x 8 and two locking wheel nuts (I know which ones as have taken the code from the lock key) Audi want £4.87 each and I work around the corner from the Audi dealer, putting it in for a free MOT soon so was going to grab them then, but if you can get them cheaper I'm all yours.

Just a quick query on everyones RS6's.....

Along the sills and front bumper the paint job (in Amar's photo and on my car) looks a slightly differnet shade to rest of car.....is this normal.....?

Yes pretty much the same on all Audis, it bugs me a bit tbh as other cheaper brands can get a match.
