Shes had a big service and check over by Camberley Audi and Ive parted with the cash!!!! The drive home is going to be long..... then its back to earth with a bang when I have to pick the kids up in her tomorrow night!!!

Nice one Mev, I look forward to your thoughts comparing the plus with your old B7. As for mods I'd say hotchkins anti roll bars to give it more of a B7 RS 4 feel. The sports exhuast on the Plus is fairly loud to be honest, I wouldn't even bother changing it but I've told Grizz I'll have one now and as it comes with a free service so what the heck, I'm going for it. Still haven't decided on res/non res. A viper/MRC remap maybe?

welcome to the world of 6's. I loved my time with my plus, but let it go 6 months ago. I still lurk around here occasionally - still missing the beast i suppose.

anyway, I've been watching plus's on the market and in the last 3 years I've tracked 36 UK cars - either for sale or on forums. the colour split for these is
2 Mugello Blue Pearl
7 Sprint Blue Pearl
11 Ebony Black Pearl
12 Light Silver Metallic
2 Misano Red
2 Daytona Grey Pearl

I can't be sure they're all still alive though..

Now I know what all the fuss is about!! 24 hours in and the missus is already asking why I dont look at her like that any more??? Having been in NA manual cars for a while there is no doubt in my mind that the power from a 6 is so much more on tap and instant in comparison to a newer 4. I cant say I wouldnt go back to b7 but at the moment for a 7 yr old car this is a sureal experience so far. Once I have mastered the throttle control to getting a smoother delivery then Ill avoid breaking the mother in laws neck (if she ever gets in it)... With the 4 I was always working it hard through the gears to get a response back and whilst I still love a manual box with this is just instant and IMO bonkers fast. The 4 is somewhat reserved and dampered in comparison, dare I say it too modern? and having just taken her through some interesting bends this morning it gives just so much confidence on approach with no understeer under braking and then powering out of the apex is immediate and effortless with no roll or misbehaving. With the light immediate steering its almost like you forget your driving a bloody great 2 ton car! Happy days indeed but now I need a bit of input on a couple of teething probs:

Sat nav map seems stuck on the last destination and the bee sting rubber surround is slightly damage? related and where can I get an OEM one from?
Annoying squeek coming from steering wheel housing driving me nuts
Looking into a Iphone/ipod compatiable set up with full display on screen but keeing OEM rsne in place. Ideas?
Im removing the old age phone cradle from the centre arm rest I think as pointless nowadays
I need to give this natural leather a good clean and feed. It looks suprisingly good but vulnrable!!
A few stains need to go however.

Sounds like the GPS antenna is dead. Get a new one from amazon for a few quid and put it somewhere out of site under the dash (on top of glove box?)

Try lubing the universal joint at the back of the footwell. Or remove the column trim and WD40 where it's squeeking.

To do what? You can add bluetooth capability to the RNS-E easily enough. For full integration you'll need an Alpine KCE 425i.

If you just want music from the ipod/iphone then I recommend (and use) an xcarlink.

No its on the windows , no tints yet which is wierd as if someone has cleaned them with sand paper. I suppose Im clutching at straws on this one.
I want to keep the Rnse so this looks perfect. What sort of money are we looking at and hassle to install?
The antenna Ill look at. Im not that technical so will have to think on home installation. Happy for it to be on the roof but nice shout about relocation.

the other thing is only 1 key! Prob need to avoid Audi on this one for purley cost reasons. I have ordered one before on another car.... any suggestions on a cost effective source for Audi keys?

Why do people always sell a car with one key? What do they do with the other one? The mind boggles.

Anyway, for the key, you can buy a new one at Audi. They'll cut it for you if you give them your serial number. Or you can buy one off ebay and get a new blade cut. This place'll even cut one from a photo of your key:

You'll need to take the car to Audi / VW to get your immobiliser reprogrammed to recognise the key. Otherwise, there are some places in Autotrader that'll be able to do that for you instead.

From Audi it's £50 for the key, £50 for the remote bit and £50 for the programming.

Thanks - I agree it was the one thing I forgot prior to hand over ? Bloody expensive though arnt they! that said the chap who sold picked me up from the station in my next car was a pleasure to deal with and had the car fully serviced ( major) and issues fixed by Camberely over £2k all in so I kind of didnt make to much fuss about it. As with the sat nav.

I find the easiest thing is to upload them to an external site, (I use Photobucket) and then copy and paste the IMG tag located underneath the thumbnail image into the thread.

Thanks Phil. The only reason, after much deliberation, I didnt go after yours more was the mods. Dont get me wrong I would imagine it completes the car but I just wanted to have one as stock first off and then do it myself later if I felt the need! Cheers for all the help though.
