It's really easy to get the head unit out. Just make sure you put the keys in the right way round. Can't remember which it is, but feels right when you get them in the right way. Don't force anything.

Hang back on buying one of these lads....Put it in to Audiosonic here in Aberdeen...The installer told me "Power is getting to it but nothing is working"....he thought it was the wrong unit for the RS6...I've e-mailed the seller and will get back when I get an answer from him

I have an older version of the Pioneer model to which you have referred (mine is the AVIC-F920BT) which the previous owner put in just before I bought it.

The sat nav is very very good (clear, EU wide and easy to follow), as is the bluetooth phone function. I never play CDs or DVDs but quality is good. In fact, it is a pretty decent product but I do get irritated with the ipod interface on the touch screen (scrolling between artists etc isn't the easiest) but the real issue for me is how the thing looks....there is an awful lot of fascia/dead space around it and if I was starting from scratch I think I might rethink and try for something a little more in keeping with the original like the Dynavin one mentioned on the other post.

My problem now is, I have a reversing camera (which is occasionally useful...the wife uses it a lot to drive into kerbs as she knows how much I love refurbing my wheels), I have iPod connection, I have a decent bluetooth phone set up so why change it just cos of the look...? If the new Audi units were cheaper and easier to come by, I might be tempted. But other options just worry me that I would be taking a step backwards.

So, all in all not a bad unit but do thing about how it will look in situ.

Just wondering if you had made any progress with this one, bakustax? I've had my finger poised on that "buy-it-now" ebay button (from a different seller) for a few weeks now in anticipation...

Thanks!

Mrfickle i agree with you i dont like the dead space on this unit, both sides as i bought this Pioneer Avic- F930BT DD stereo, we just got the car back today and thats the first thing that i was not that happy with :? HOWEVER i dont think its all that bad now from spending some time learning how to use the thing tonite i will see how thing go over the next few weeks, what do you guys think.
