Traction control light and ABS light on together

Post by jd_hants » Mon Feb 21, 2011 12:54 pm

Both these lights came on this morning within a few minutes and stayed on. But on switching off/on they have stayed off again.

Don't have my VAGCOM to hand but does this sound like the onset of a faulty brake switch as it did seem to coincide with the first braking.

Anyone know the part number for the brake switch as VAGCAT doesnt seem to work anymore?!?!

need to scan it,

could be a simple ABS sensor or longitudinal sensor.

Thanks guy's. Think i might go and buy a switch due to it being cheap. Not sure when i'm going to have time to scan it.

Thanks for the help

I had the same lights on, fitted a new brake light switch, £8 something and less than
a half hour to fit, fixed it for me.
