Had the set 2 - 4 - 6

Post by mikecbiggles » Sun Feb 09, 2003 3:45 pm

Well for a few brief days I had the complete Audi set, the 2 , the 4 & the RS6. Sold the 2 so now I've got the MTM modified RS4 and MTM modified RS6 left. Still don't know which to sell as the RS4 is so so quick and supremely raw. The RS6 is oh so fast yet far too refined and as for that b***dy gearbox. What is the point of a 1000bhp engine being fitted to a gearbox that strips at 690nm of torque. We had an attempt at the exhaust and Phil Millington of Miltek was very patient but the truth appears to be that the downpipes and Cats need to be replaced in full and that means dropping the engine out...a 2-4day job.

So when MTM have perfected their manual gearbox and Kim has his workshop manual of how to drop out the engine on a £60k car, then I'll be ready to trust these guys to push the car to the next stage.

Will keep you informed.

Oh and don't anyone tell me that the wheels bend on RS6's. Have you any idea how much I had to spend on the last campaign on the RS4?

Welcome Mike...
one of the stalwarts from the RS4.org everyone.
Mike was one of the pioneers of getting the wheel issue sorted.
Glad to see that you have got the RS4 and RS6, shame you had to split the set up.
Cheers

Hello Mike see....really nice to read that you had the whole RS- set....there aren't that many of those collecters on this globe. But I've one curious question.
As you collected them all, Why didn't you go for the s6plus...(the car that came after the rs2, and quattro gmbh's first real car...)..Than you would have the Jackpot
Would be nice to have them all in a garage, in the same color...
greetings

Finally I got you Mike!
I have been waiting and waiting on the RS4 site for the result of the RS6 mods and how that compares to the RS4 and the next thing, the site got cancelled. So how is the RS6 now compared to the RS4? Can your BMW friend now overtake the RS4 or still just keep up?
Cheers
