Opinions wanted please

Okay Bilstein coilover people what are your thoughts on this:

With a comfort setting on 4 do you get more body roll than when you had DRC (possibly working but who ever knew??).

Are the ARB upgrades a must to get near DRC bodyroll control?

PS Not being lazy, have extensively read the various search results and yet to get definitive answer...

Thanks and don't shoot me!

The Bilstein's set to 4 stopped that sickening body roll I use to get from my DRC and the ARBs making it flatter still, nice and taught.
No matter where you go, there you are.

i didn't really notice a difference in body roll going from DRC to Billies. Much better ride though now that I'm on 4 instead of 6.

Neither DRC nor coilies will make much difference to roll - both systems are dampers (ie they take out rapid movements, not slow movements like roll).

You need ARB's to take out roll (the clue is in the name!!) - and stiffer ARB's will generally improve either DRC or Coilies.

What DRC does (when working - sic) is to effectively stiffen the outside (loaded) dampers and soften the inside damper as you corner. This has a marginal effect on the sense of roll as bumps or undulations on the outer wheels are treated differently from those on the inside. The effect is to increase the grip on the inside wheel (more compliant suspension = better grip on uneven surfaces).

I suspect that much of the perception of dramatic improvements in grip on going from DRC to coilies is that most people go from broken DRC (ghastly) to coilies plus ARB's in one step. Naturally it's miles better! Having fairly recently had Hotchkiss ARB's added to my fully working DRC set up I can say there is a definite improvement to turn in on sharper bends (which is what I hoped for) with only a very minor deterioration in general stiffness over uneven potholes etc (which is the price you pay for stiffening anything). For the "enthusiast" that's better - but for the original target drivers (rich young execs) it would probably be too hard.

Have Hotchkis ARBs and it is much flatter when cornering and Bilsteins are on 5 (London potholes). It is a vastly superior setup to the old DRC as damping is better and far less roll.

I have mine set at 2 front 3 rear as I found 4 all round too soft. I like to feel what I'm driving on.
Don't have ARB at the moment, but feel it would benefit further by having them fitted..... Xmas pressie to self.

Overall a vast improvement over DRC
