Have recently noticed that the outside temperature reading seems to be consistently a few degrees higher than reality. Not a huge issue I know, but wondered if this is a normal characteristic of the car, or if this is a simple thing to repair? Anyone else have experience of this issue?
Cheers,
Mart.
Optimistic outdoor temp reading
RE: Optimistic outdoor temp reading
Same here. Seems to resolve itself once you're on the move. Doesn't bother me.

RE: Optimistic outdoor temp reading
When stationary the car seems to pick up a bit of heat from the engine bay so reads a little higher but when on the move it seems quite
reliable.
reliable.
RE: Optimistic outdoor temp reading
The temp sensor does fail on these cars and its also affected by the rad where its situated. Get a new sensor and then mount it in one of the lower air ducts beside the fogs. That way you'll get a true reading.

What he said. It's just on the inside of the front bumper. Quite easy to move it to one side and improve the reading accuracy.ecain63 wrote:The temp sensor does fail on these cars and its also affected by the rad where its situated.
