drivers door not closing

Post by gooldie » Mon Nov 15, 2010 9:52 am

Hope there is a simple fix to this opened up the car this morning and it has been very cold overnight ( car completely frozen) when i went to shut the driers door it wouldn't close. The latch in side the door didn't appear to be catching. is this anyone else has come across and is there a quick fix?

quick fix is wait for lock to thaw out ,moisture has got into the lock and frozen , worse case scenario , it wont even open, same with windows not winding down etc

My passenger door does it sometimes. It appears that the more you slam it, the less likely it is to close properly. Just pushing it gently closed works fine.

Lubricate the mechanism in the short run.

If eventually you're out of patience a new door latch is on the cards!.

I get the same problem, Always when frosted overnight, and gently gently works but slamming/firm closing doesn't.
