20" wheels

Post by gooldie » Thu Nov 04, 2010 6:47 pm

I have been looking to fit a set of 20" wheels to the RS6 since i got it. Have spent the last month deliberating which wheels to go for. Would have loved to fit a set of Sportec Mono 10's, BBS CHR's or HRE M40's but my budget just wouldn't stretch to them.

Started looking at new RS6 style replicas as they suit the C5 well. i was just about to go for them when i was surfing ebay.de looking for the dectane LED rear lights i thought i started to search for BBS wheels.

Anyway ended up buying a brand new set of ball polished BBS CK 9.5x20 wheels including delivery from Germany for less than a price of a set of RS6 reps!!!!

They arrived today and couldn't wait to open them and see them , they look amazing can't wait to get them fitted. just need to finalise tyre choice

Apologies about the poor iphone pictures

What size rubber fits the c5 rs6
how much was they and were from.
Think they'll look awsome, especially on a dark colour rs6

going for a 255/30/20 tyre either conti sport 5p or goodyear F1. will PM you the price of them.

They are going on a mugello blue RS6 avant so fingers crossed they will look okay.

wheels look spot on. Should look great on the car. You must be looking at a bill of £1k just for tyres to suit the rs6 for them though? Get some more pics up when fitted

255/30/20 are what I use on my OEM C6 wheels on my C5. I run Goodyear Eagle F1's and am very happy with them!

Fitment will be tight, places to watch are the brake caliper support on the back of the spokes, tyre against the control arm and on the knobly bit. You may need 3mm shims/spacers to ensure clearance depending on the offset. Note, once warm the tyres rubbed slightly on mine without spacers but were fine cold, hence why i'm now on 3mm shims on the fronts! Keep the pressures up to as low pressures can spread the tyre towards the control arm too.

Sounds like a mare but worth it! 20's fill the arches so much better and to me, the ride is comprable to the OEM 19's.

Very nice, very nice indeed! I agree, wheels tend to look better when the gleam has weathered down a bit - would you consider a subtle recolouring down the line if and when they get refurbished? They still look the business as they are regardless!

Yeah, they would look even better in gunmetal grey.
